Singles Day on 11 November has become the biggest shopping day of the year in China since it was first observed in the 1990s. And, due to increased Chinese workers and immigrants in UAE as well as worldwide trends, Singles Day has become a new sales event in Dubai and other parts of the United Arab Emirates.

Singles Day began in China as a time to celebrate being single with a shopping holiday. It is similar to many commercial holidays in the United States, Canada, and other nations in the West. On Singles’ Day, many e-commerce sites and shops launch massive sales that attract young consumers.
Since Singles Day is a holiday that celebrates individualism and the single lifestyle, many young Chinese people buy luxury items for themselves. From electronics to clothing, many goods are purchased during this holiday. This causes many retailers to earn large profits in a single 24-hour period.
On Singles Day there are discounts not only at shopping malls and retail outlets but at airlines, parks, museums, entertainment centres, and elsewhere.
