The school term and holiday dates in the United Arab of Emirates are regulated by the Ministry of Education.
The academic calendar in the UAE begins in summer (August) every year. There are 3 terms in each academic year – with 3 holidays in between. Winter holidays span across 3 weeks; while spring holidays are around 2 weeks. Among the three holidays, the summer holidays give students the most time off of up to 7 weeks. In addition, private schools in the UAE are given a one week window of flexibility with dates to accommodate foreign exam schedules.
School holidays, especially in summer are a prime time for activities and family travels. So, make sure to book your family holiday plans in advance.
